The 65th Annual Grammy Awards was held at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles California on 5th February 2023, and Africa was well represented with several African artists


The 65th Annual Grammy Awards was held at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles California on 5th February 2023, and Africa was well represented with several African artists being nominated including Uganda’s Eddy Kenzo, Nigeria’s Tems and Burna Boy, Ghana’s Rocky Dawuni, South Africa’s Nomcebo Zikode, in various categories. Kabaka Pyramid, Jamaica born artist won Reggae Album with his album titled The Kalling. Tems also received a Grammy award for her collaboration on Wait for you.

Multi-award-winning South African musicians, Zakes Bantwini, Nomcebo Zikode and Wouter Kellerman were the other three African acts to walk away with a Grammy on Sunday evening.

The 65th Annual Grammy Awards was a showcase of talent and diversity, with African artists being recognized for their contributions to music. The awards ceremony not only celebrated African talent but it also highlighted the rich cultural heritage of Africa and the impact African music continues to have on the world.

The 65th Annual Grammy Awards was a night to remember for Africa, with more than two of its own taking home awards and being recognized for their talent and contributions to music. It serves as a reminder of the power of representation and the importance of diversity in the music industry.
